Plot
Receiving a shocking late night phone call from the police, celebrated author Annie Cutter learns that her estranged, recently-deceased sister had kept her young daughter locked up alone in a dark basement for the last five years. Choosing to adopt the little girl, Annie comes to believe there may have been a reason for her sister to be afraid of the child. And that she may have locked her in the basement for her own safety... And the protection of others.
